Metcalf bio

Cathy Metcalf

Cathy Metcalf was inspired to learn sign language by a few ladies in her Pennsylvania church who had a heart for the Deaf. Later, in the mid 1990s, Cathy saw Evangelist Ronnie Rice preach at a family week at the Bill Rice Ranch.

Through his preaching, she felt the Lord leading her into deaf ministry. Currently, she is a professional interpreter in the community and at East Tennessee State University. She founded the Mountain Empire Deaf School and is the deaf ministry coordinator at her church in Bristol, Tennessee. She and her husband Vernon have two sons, Andrew and Michael, and a deaf foster daughter named Julia.
